Are you an Allied Health Professional (AHP) interested in research but not sure where to start? Or 
perhaps you've been involved in great work and want to share it — but the idea of writing an abstract 
feels a bit daunting? Join us for an engaging and practical webinar designed to support AHPs in 
getting involved in research and developing abstracts for submission. With the upcoming congress 
on the horizon, we’re aiming to boost AHP participation and showcase the incredible contributions 
from across our professions.This session will break down the research journey, demystify the 
abstract writing process, and provide practical tools to help you take that Srst step. Whether you're

From Practice to Publication: Engaging AHPs in Research and Abstract Writing 
 
Dr Elaine Lo obtained her PharmD from the University of British Columbia. She is a principal clinical pharmacist at National University Hospital and has an appointment at National University of Singapore as adjunct assistant professor. Her clinical interest includes pharmacogenomics, immunology and gastroenterology. Other than patient care at the immunotherapeutics clinic and the secretariat role at Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, her focus is to facilitate the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics within the National University Health System and across the nation.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University and began her 
career at Houston Methodist Hospital in 2007 as a bedside nurse in the Neurosurgical ICU. In 2011, 
she joined the liver transplant team as a transplant coordinator, bringing her expertise and 
dedication to patient care. She now serves as the Manager of Clinical Operations for the liver 
transplant team at the J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center, overseeing clinical operations in both liver 
transplant and hepatology clinics at the Sherrie & Alan Conover Center for Liver Disease & 
Transplantation. She currently serves as a committee member of the Allied Health Professionals 
Committee within the International Liver Transplant Society, and launched the committee’s Srst 
international webinar as co-moderator in June 2025. 
 
Alison Rowley, MRPharmS, DipClinPharm, MSc, IPres
King’s College Hospital

As the Principal Pharmacist of hepatology and transplant services at King’s College Hospital, Alison has a wealth of experience having worked in liver transplant for many years, providing clinical pharmacy services to the transplant ward and outpatients. Her key duties involve in-ward rounds, guideline development and training for junior staff. Patient adherence and education is a key area of interest and examining the influence pharmacists can make. She regularly provides training to healthcare staff and is involved in number of areas of research. More recently she has become a committee member of the International Liver Transplant Society and the British Liver Transplant Group, as she continues to fly the flag for transplant pharmacists and the key role they provide.
